The Book of Common Prayer

The norm for worship at the Church of Our Saviour is the Episcopal Church’s Book of Common Prayer (BCP). Most of our services are conducted in the traditional language (Rite I) of the BCP as revised in 1979.

What We Believe

In the Book of Common Prayer (on pages 846-862) there is “An Outline of the Faith” – also referred to as “The Catechism.” Those who are seeking an in-depth understanding of what Christians believe, and in particular the Episcopalian Christians at Our Saviour, could do no better than to look in a Prayer Book and read the appropriate section.

Every Sunday at mass, we affirm our faith in the words of the Nicene Creed (BCP p. 327) or, during Holy Baptism, Morning/Evening Prayer, or the Burial rite, the Apostles’ Creed (BCP p. 53).
