Outreach

Church of the Common Ground

The Church of the Common Ground is a worshiping community of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, a “church without walls” on the streets of Atlanta. We have volunteers who make and deliver sandwiches for Church of the Common Ground. Most volunteers make and/or deliver about once a month, but the schedule is flexible. https://www.churchofthecommonground.org

Candy Crawl!

A few days before Halloween, families gather for a fun, candy-filled event in Virginia Highland's shopping district. Costumed kids can stop by participating businesses who give out candy to eager trick-or-treaters. Church of Our Saviour participates each year.

Intown Collaborative Ministries

Our association with Intown Cares allows us to refer people in need of food and housing to this amazing organisation. Intown not only has a food pantry, but also actively engages our differently housed neighbours to help them find safe, permanent places to live.

Angels Unawares and
Luke 6:30 Ministry

Sometimes called “Blessing Bags,” Church of Our Saviour provides small brown paper bags full of goodies for anyone who asks. Typical contents might include: a toothbrush, non-perishable food, and socks. Also included is a “Luke 6:30” card.

Luke 6:30 encourages us to "give to everyone who asks of you,” and the card contains scripture and contact information for Intown Ministries and other organizations that are able to provide assistance.

Cards and bags are available in the church office. Cards can be given out separately and are also available on the literature table in the back of the Nave.

Summerfest and Porchfest

Each summer, parishioners at Church of Our Saviour give out free cold lemonade, water, lip balms, and dog treats to the passers-by on their way to these festivals. We have a great time and show Virginia Highlands that we are good neighbours!

Pride for Parents Toy Drive and
Winter Coat Drive

In December, Church of Our Saviour collects new, unwrapped toys for families who need a little help at Christmas time, and we collect gently used/new coats for those in need. Toys and coats may be dropped off November-December during office hours (Monday-Thursday, 9 am to 1 pm).

The Little Library

Drop off unwanted books in good condition or select a new-to-you book to take home!
